About the Show

Blackout Songs by Joe White is poised to enthral Melbourne audiences. Following its Olivier-nominated run in London’s West End, in its Australian debut at Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre. Directed by the renowned Tom Healey and supported by a dynamic cross-disciplinary creative team. This new play offers a compassionate and unflinching exploration of love, addiction, and memory. The narrative begins with a chance meeting at an AA session.  Bringing two individuals together and setting the stage for years of tumultuous highs and lows as they drift in and out of each other’s lives. Oscillating between hedonism and hope, indulgence and sobriety, their love story reaches mythical proportions. As they confront their personal demons, they realise they need to get sober together and make sense of it all—just after one last drink.
