About the Show
Written and performed by Sally McKenzie, directed by Sean Mee, with sound design by J. David Franzke, WAY fuses filmed sequences and live performance to interweave the fictional journey of documentary-maker Lynne with the lived experiences of the women in her film. There’s Julie who lives on the streets, Maysie who sleeps in her car, Lily of no fixed address, and Zahra who resides in a women’s refuge.
Sally McKenzie’s writing captures the essence of human emotion, weaving a narrative that is both poignant and thought-provoking. The play explores themes of identity, forgiveness, and the unyielding passage of time. With its rich character development and engaging dialogue, “WAY” promises to be an unforgettable theatrical experience.
