Review: You’re a good man, Charlie Brown

Alex Theatre (St Kilda)
Until 2 July

You’re a good man Charlie Brown is based off the comic strip Peanuts written by Charles M Schulz, which was commonly found in the newspaper.

Seeing this comic come to the stage brings a whole new life to these classic characters. You’re a good man Charlie Brown attracts audiences young and old to relive their childhood memories running home from school to turn the TV on and watch it or lounge about on a Sunday morning reading the comic in the newspaper.

Each character was perfectly cast in their roles as they take on the mannerisms and portrayed in the original comics paired with equally bright colourful costumes which brings the performance all together. I would have loved to see a few more characters brought to life in the stage show such as Peppermint Patty, Pigpen, Marcie and Franklin.

You’re a good man Charlie Brown brings the nurturing friendships between the kids while discovering the world through innocent minds of the children. It is a very bright, fun musical the whole family can enjoy.
