On behalf of the Melbourne Theatre Info team I pay tribute to our dear friend, Craig Maloney, who passed away on Monday morning, 22 May 2023.

Craig was a legend in the amateur theatre scene around Melbourne who was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, director, performer and an honoured individual in the Lyrebird Hall Of Fame. He paved the way for many performers and directors in not only his home company Phoenix, which he helped start, but many other companies in our community for the last few decades.

Craig leaves us with a legacy that cannot be matched as he takes his place in the spotlight in the sky and I, along with everyone who ever knew or worked with him, will never forget him or the mark he left in our circuit.
