About the Show

The iconic musical Jesus Christ Superstar is coming to the Capitol Theatre, Sydney in 2024.   The new production has received rave reviews and numerous accolades, including an Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival. Featuring lyrics and music by award-winning duo Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.  The show depicts the final weeks of Jesus Christ’s life through the perspective of Judas. The legendary score includes hits such as “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Gethsemane,” and “Superstar.”

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ.  As seen through the eyes of Judas. Reflecting the rock roots that defined a generation, the legendary score includes I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane and Superstar.

Produced by John Frost and David Ian for Crossroads Live, in association with Work Light Productions.  This celebrated rock musical will open in November 2024 at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre, where the original Australian production began in 1972, ahead of a national tour.
